serial to ethernet converter

I have a serial to ethernet converter.
It has a private IP as default.
I changed the IP according to the internal network.
I was able to ping using it's static IP.

Now I have changed it's static IP configuration to DHCP.
I did not change the IP address.
Now i'm not able to ping the device from my PC.

Now to ping the device using that IP and bring it back to static what should i do?

You have to refer to your device manual to reset the settings.
All device is different.
Changing to DCHP means that the IP is assigned by the network.
Your device might have gotten the IP but you don't know.

Typical solution is to obtain a IP finder from the manufacturer,
or most serial to ethernet device can configure the setting
through the serial port.

can you explain how we can configure from a serial port.
I am interfacing a micro controller to the serial port of this converter
 

You have to look at the manual for your device.
Every device is different.
Most of them allow access from the serial port.
Tha manual should indicate the method to acess,
what baud & other settings you need to set in order
to talk to them.
