I have a EPABX system with serial Port interface to PC.
This EPABX has a vendor supplied software which connects through Serial port to get logs and change other settings.
But the EPABX is placed little bit away from my machine so that serial port is not possible. But I have Ethernet available there. I have read about devices called serial to Ethernet adapters, But not sure weather it can serve my purpose.
Is there a device available which can be connected to the EPABX serial port and the other end connected to RJ45 LAN - means to my router/Switch. This device should attain an IP and should be visible as a virtual comport in my computer. Then the vendor software can talk through this serial port.
Is this possible with any available devices?

Thank you

Many ethernet-to-serial bridges available, e.g. from Moxa or Lantronix.

Hardware solution: moxa nport 5110 (real COM port mode)
Software solution: TCP COM Bridge
