does there is a need of proper reciver in RS232 port for transmitt ??
i am using MAX232 and in output i just put a LED to check wether it transmitt or not but transmission not accur
DOES it requier a proper reciever for transmission ????

Yes
actuallly i m making Laptop controlled car and i have to send different codes serially in microcontroller.
communication in SIMPLEX MODE ..
right now i am just checking the MAX232

ok you just connect the max in to system via serial port, connect MAX Tx pin to MAX Rx pin and open hyper terminal in to your system.
Type the character from your keyboard .Check, whether the character is displaying or not in hyper terminal.
if yes your MAX is Good.otherwise you have to replace MAX,before that connection checking is important.
