sdh explanation

I need a source (YRL, Presentation,...etc) that describe the SONET/SDH protocol, and also transmission equipment suppliers.

This is a good URL if you want to know more about SONET/SDH
It tells you What is SONET & SDH? and lists the hierarchy of the most common SONET/SDH data rates . Also It gives you some links to the ANSI SONET Standards and its explanations .
