Did you have any luck interfacing the SD card to the PIC?

What PIC are you using, 16F877A, 18F4550, etc? Do you have a SD Card breakout board?

Like this:

SD/MMC Card Adapter

SD and MMC are usually 3.3v, so you need to take that into account when designing your circuit.
