script to get macro location

is there any db command that can be used to get the relation between macro and core boundary? for example is the macro placed near top core boundary

hmm.. I doubt there if there is such commanf.
But If you want to calculated distance of macro from boundary I would suggest you to write is simple tcl script and use dbget to know macro position and top edge to nearest boundary distance.
