Scope for Embedded System

Hi all,
I have quite good knowledge in field of embedded systems, i have worked with pic 18 series uc and atmel uc , i have been working with keil ide and CCS for PIC, based on C. but in job market i found that in india nowadays no company wants this level of job profile.
they went higher to RTlinux,C++, or some other RTOS, etc.

so am feeling that embedded with C is no more used or used rarely ,

if you guys feel my opinion is wrong please provide me a suggestion !

how can i upgrade myself, or still is there scope for lower level uc..

ya i forgot to mention, i have leaarned the rtos concept from CCS tutorials.. yet to learn ucosII but is that used in industries now

There are many rtos i industry among them uCOS-II
uCOS-II is the defacto RTOS to start practicing.
It is a good starting point to practice RTOS and then you can move to the one required to your company easily.
