satellite uplink frequency

if i have the downlink frequecy of some channel ,is it possible to calculate the uplink Frequency of that channel.

i think in C-band if the uplinking frequency is 6GHZ then the downloading frequency is 4 GHZ that is 2 GHZ difference. like this if i have a downlink frequency of 4031MHZ and if i add 2048MHZ(2GHZ) then it makes 6079 MHZ.

plz someone guide me that i calculated the uplink frequency correctly or there is some other formula to calculate the uplink frequency?

Remember the TX-IF= 70 MHZ for satellite

uplink and downlink frequency

TX-IF=70 MHz is usually the case with satellite communication but not always...It depends on the type of satellite and the type of multiplexing used.
Similarly the difference of 2GHz is usually maintained in the case of GEO-Stationary Satellites...The same may not be tru in case of LEO Satellites...
