ezwave

Hello,

I actually use EZWave to view the waves results of my simulation (with eldo). But I don't like this viewer : it doesn't support very big file, there are a lot of bugs and the script possibilities are too low (or bad documented).

I heard some positive feddback concerning Waveview Analyzer from Sandwork.

Have you already used this tool ? Do you know other tools better than EZWave ?

Thanks a lot

waveview analyzer

sandwork is now part of synopsys, so maybe the eldo support will be dropped...

sandworks viewer

Hi,

I have used a lot EZwave and Sandworks viewers, and I really prefer EZwave.
Although, each viewer has its strong points.

Which version of EZwave do you use ? And what is the typical size of your databases.
Can you tell me too how many waves you have in you database?
By my side, I have databases up to ~5-6Gb and it works well.
I noticed also that this viewer was greatly enhanced over last versions. (My current version is 2007.1)

Another advise :
Do you launch Eldo in batch mode and then open the wdb during the simulation with EZwave ? In this case, it is very useful for monitoring but not very fast.
You should start Eldo directly with EZwave (option -ezwave), or open the database later when the simulation is finished.

Hi,
which size do you handle to have troubles with Ezwave ?
what kind of bug have you met ?

my experience is not so bad ...
Bozzo.

sandworks waveview

Hi,

The size of my files is between 5GB to 40GB. I don't have more than 20-30 wave in my database.
I always open the database when my simulation is finished.
The version I used is quite old : AMS2004.3.

Some few bugs I met :
- ezwave crash quite often
- the waves are not always correctly displayed (specially when I zoom on the wave)
- the X and Y axis are sometimes not correctly set (view all function)

And there is no scripting possibility that can automatize some tasks

wdb ezwave

I complain also about windows3.1 capabilities :D
You should definitely use a newer version.
Speed and capacity are far better, and there is Tcl scripting now.

tcl code eldo

ok, I will try a newer version of EZWave.

That is mean that anybody have found a better viewer than EZWave ?

ezwave .wdb database

ezwave was full bugs... 2005.03 works good. later always better!

ezwave waveform viewer

I used Sandwork Waveview and Cadence Wavescan. Waveview is worth a try. This is my favorite waveform viewer.
