hi all,
i am a beginner to ASIC. I came to know that the libraries used for synopsys are in db format. but when i tried to view them i could not make out anything! may be it was encrypted. but *.lib files are simple ascii files. so by any chance can i get back *.lib from *.db? if so please guide me how to do that......
thanks...
SSS

lc_chell
read_lib xxx.lib
write_lib xxx -ouput sss.db
quit

That's all

that will give me a db file from lib file...
what i want is a lib file from db file

Is it possible?
If somebody know the way, please write out.

I want to konw how to do?

db is complied version of lib file. They have the same meaning to the synthesis tools. For DC, read a db file is faster than the lib file. Actually, you can load either one for the sythesis.

There is no way to extract lib from db.

There is no way to do it !

dbtolib

DB is the database used by synopsys themself, We cann't convert it to lib.

I think there is no one can convert .lib for .db. Maybe the Synopsys inside has it.

same difficulty as convert microsoft *.exe/*.dll to c source code. :)
