S8050 NPN or PNP Transistor

I was searching for S8050 Transistor datasheet but it is strange that both NPN and PNP transistor have S8050 number.


WS says it is an PNP transistor

Anyone has any idea?

My guess is that it is NPN. The way the values are quoted in the Wing Shing data sheet are not how PNP values are usually specified. Most voltages and currents would be specified as being negative.

S8050 is in all respects an NPN transistor
there is a blunder in your datasheet from the Wing Shing manufacturer
The complimentary is the S8550 which is a PNP transistor
I have used these transistors a lot

The WS datasheet may be flawed. But isn't it also possible that WS makes S8050 PNP transistor (even though the values aren't quoted as they should be)?

If you have the device. As long as the part is not completely ruined. There is a chance that you can measure the EB o CB junction to be sure. Otherwise you can see how it is connected and biased on the circuit that uses it. Either with the schematics or doing a little of reverse engineering.
