Hello all, I am currently building a LED Matrix Display based on Rojo's design.

He helped me with alotta stuff, i finished building it already, but i just cant program it.

Is there any important settings besides chip type ? (I'm using ATmega16-16pi).

I was told to set at TOOLS, programmer to ATmega16 , and then at Settings, Programmer, to STK 200, and LTP1.

Besides these two settings, is there other settings I should set? I'm new at CODEVISION, and I only used it for this project.

Also, for troubleshooting purposes, the picture I inserted is what the display showed when I had the thing on..... and it still couldnt be programmed.

The constant error message I got was
COMMUNICATION ERROR - Check programmer power supply
- Check if chip type is set correctly
-check prinbter port
-check AVR chip is not damaged.

When I click on program, the LED on the STK compatible 200 board sorta blinks a little.

I hope you guys can help me over here. Rojo is really busy and I really need to get the project working in a week. Please tell me what other details I need to post here for checking.

erm, I also just found out one thing. I'm using the printer port 9db25) instead of the nromal ports. CODEVISION sometimes give me errors like THE COMMUNICATION PORT COM1 is unavailable please use another port.

But the printer port is LPT1....so, i'm kidna confused here. Hopefully its just a few setting problems. i've checked my schematics. its the same as Rojo's . its available on the web above. i can post it again, if its allright to double post.... Rojo helped me remove the LCD and key board control, and he tested it. the programs supposed to be working fine.
