Does anyone know of any "silicon" relay that can bypass a RS485 dataline when power is not on. When power is on, the dataline is "broken" up and processed by the unit, when power is switched off, data should just pass through. Super simple with a relay, only problem is, it will take too much from the battery. Can I solve this without a relay?

Eddie

You could for example use a bistable relais which only takes power while swiching to the other state.

If you use a silicon relay this will also drain current from your battery while it has to "break up" your circuit.

best regards

Have a look at **broken link removed**, you'll find a trick that can be modified to suit your own situation.
