Hello Every body,

I came acroos a problem stated below while interfacing two ICS to one IC and none of them are Controller.

"I need to give the clock to IC2 or IC3 whichever is selected" now my doubt is how to achieve that. If I given a clock to unselected pin what will happen.
one of my friend has suggested use of not gate as in PIC2, I thought of achive it as in PIC1. Please suggest me the best one or Alternate if any.

Thanking you all

If I given a clock to unselected pin what will happen.
Which devices are you talking about, what's the prurpose of the clock?
E.g. in case of a SPI interface, it's usual to feed the serial clock to all devices and have chip selects.

Hello FVM,

Thanking you for your quick reply.

There is a small correction in my previous post. "If I given a clock to unselected IC what will happen." I typed Pin instead of IC.
My design includes two totalace xtremes to communicate for 1553 protocol. the pci I/O accceleator have the control pins for one IC including clock. But I want to connect the other as well. I want the control signals present at the IC i selected. The two ICs may not be selected at a time. so in that case which of the two configurations I attached in my previous post is help ful for me. If I use a not gate to all the control signals including clock will it work?

Please help me.

Thanking you once again

Regards,
Bhagavan

That's a very specific question that can be only answered related to the specific chip, referring to the documentation.
