Hello,

I've never looked at SPI NAND Flash IC's but I'd like to use one now. I've read some datasheets but I have some questions if you don't mind. For example, this Micron Nand Flash memory.
If we take 2Gb one, they say:

Page size:
x8: 2,112 bytes (2,048 + 64 bytes)
x16: 1,056 words (1,024 + 32 words)
• Block size: 64 pages (128K + 4K bytes)
• Device size: 2Gb: 2,048 blocks; 4Gb: 4,096 blocks;
8Gb: 8,192 blocks

Do I understand this right that 2Gb is 256 Mb (megabyte)? 2048 bytes * 64 pages * 2048 blocks = 268435456 bytes = 256 Mb.

Another question - I don't understand their clock requirements. Will it work at 4MHz? 1 Mhz?

I appreciate some answers.

Hi,

It´s no SPI device.
What clock are you talking about?

Klaus

btw:
Yes. 2 GBit, 256 MByte

The idea is to use SPI NAND flash with MCU. MCU provides a clock (1 - 4 MHz).
--- Updated ---

Found this one - Micron MT29F1G01ABBFDWB 1Gb. It is SPI. But I wonder if it works with 1 or 4 MHz clock.

Hi,

Then register.
Any one needs to read the datasheet. Best if you do.

Klaus

I did from the beginning. The datasheet has max frequency but not the minimum.

Hi,

Lucky you, if there is no minimum. Nothing special for an SPI device.
Accept it and be happy.
