Hi,

does anybody know why some RM10 cores have a center hole?

What's the purpose of the center hole?

thanks,
Enrico Migliore

The center hole can have thread. When using a core with an air gap, a tubular ferrite can be screwed into the hole to change the AL value, hence the inductance. This is frequently used in filters that require tuning.
