HI.
I am doing a Final Year project based on RFID.
My Project is Low Power RFID assistant for blind people to recognize objects.
RFID reader will read the tags attached to objects and the data will be transmitted wirlessly to PC.The PC will retrieve the query from database and will play the sound related to objects. What You Touch is What You hear. I want to use Zigbee or Xbee for wireless communication, and I need help in selecting the following items.
1.RFID for this system.
2.Microcontroller compatible with RFID and Zigbee.(AVR,ATmel or Msp430)
3.Microcontroller compatible for PC End.(AVR,Atmel or MSP430)
4.Zigbee or any other good transievers long range upto 100m.

at transmitter Data code from RFID reader to micro controller intern to Zigbee/Xbee then at reciever end frm zigbee to microcontroller then PC.
The Final Sound will be send to Person through wireless headphones.
A Hand System for Blind People to hear what they touch with their hands.

I have been doing some similar data transmission and am using a product from Sure Electronics. The have two models one for ranges from 200m to 300m and the other is around 1km. It has been very useful and reliable. It may work well for your application.
