RF transcievers

I need an RF transceiver for which I plan to use an Rx module and Tx Module separately and connect to the same UART.

1)Can both the modules be connected to a single external antenna.

2)Will the Rx module receive whatever is transmitted from the Tx module.

Is there a low cost single transceiver module which can be substituted?

Re: RF transcievers

Hi

Most low frequency RF transceiver works in Half duplex mode (transmit or receive)
so, Yes you can connect them to the same antenna
No , In half duplex mode only one side work is working (transmit or receive not both )

All the best

Re: RF transcievers

Yup you can connect both of them to the same antenna.

There is a cheap RF transceiver RF12 which cost just $8, which consists of both transmitter and receiver in a single module.

Mostly USARTs are the type that if it is transmitting it will not receive in microcontrollers.

Depends upon MCU..
