RF amplifier that could boost the range to 0.5 - 1 mile

I have these RF modules

and their tested range is around 300 ft.

Is there a simple RF amp circuit that could boost the range to .5 mi or 1 mi?

You can use linear power amplifier modules (http://www.abacomdirect.com/Linear-RF-Power-Amplifier-PLA-05W-P93341C23620.aspx ) and for 1m you will need to use small yagi antennas, especially in the receiver module which has embedded PCB antenna ..

approx how far will 500mW transmit? Is there an amp circuit that I can make myself?
