Resources to learn about Sensors

Please suggest me some resources to learn about sensors both theoretically and practically.

My area of interest is Microcontrollers and Embedded Systems;so I need to learn how to interface them. Should I read from Handbook of Modern Sensors PHYSICS, DESIGNS, and APPLICATIONS by JACOB FRADEN or Sensor And Signal Conditioning - 2ed - Ramon Pallàs-Areny?

I don't know these books, but you can get some information for free from Analog Devices, if you go to this page

and then scroll down to the heading "Practical Design Techniques for Sensor Signal Conditioning" - there are some pdfs that might be interesting.

The thing is I don't know anything sensors.;I am more of a novice in this regard. That's why I am also asking for books. I already knew about the Analog Devices Documentation..thanks anyway.

I need to start from basics.
