Hi..

Here is the link of a 455KHz resonator...
https://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/464500/LUGUANG/CRB455E.html

In the test circuit design, it is shown that two capacitors C1 & C2 are connected with resonator with respect to ground, and a 1M resistor is connected in parallel. I wanted to know whether these components are already included in the resonator, or I have to connect them by myself? And what about the 2 NOT GATE ICs shown there??? I want to use this resonator with a 8051 uC as an oscillator/clock.

Any suggestion and/or a schematic reference will be very helpful so that I can be sure how 'exactly' I have to use the resonator to get the proper clocking. I have used crystals a lot, but never used a resonator before....

Thanks...

Microcontrollers have the NOT gates internally at their XTAL inputs to create the oscillator.

All you have to provide are the external components: the pair of 100 pF caps, the 1 Meg resistor, and of course, the resonator itself.
