Hello sir
I want to make a resistor fully shorted & opened by electronic switching means in an audio line so as to make resistor into effect & then to direct the line without it
For this i am planning to use saturation & cutoff region of a transistor so please tell me how far i am thinking ? is this idea okk or not ?

a very basic schematic i am showing here

the purpose is to design a digitally operated volume level controller so its a very short module i am showing cause its a new idea i am implanting

You could make it work but you have left out the DC biassing components. A better starting place would be to use a FET or a digital transmission gate (4066)
Frank

okk sir sure , so give me a commonly available number for FET please . . thanks
