What is meant by residual bias current? I only found about input bias current which is determined by the opamp itself.

Residual bias current is only used in that book.. any help?

The Art of electronics, Ch7 pg 398

thanks

The text is clearly referring to bias current compensated OPs like OP07 or OP27.

Residual means the difference between the input transistor base current and the compensation current.

This remark applies only to opamps with bias current cancellation (like OP07, for example).
This principle leads to a remaining bias current (called "residual").
Try to understand the corresponding circuitry and the working principle.
