Replacing LEDs on PCB that is covered in conformal coating (lacquer)?

Hello, I wish to replace some failed LEDs on a PCB which is covered in conformal coating (transparent lacquer).

Is it possible for me to de-solder the LEDs, then wipe off any lacquer that may have melted over the pads, and then re-solder a new LED onto the pads, and then spray it over with the waterproof lacquer again?
 

You can normall solder through conformal coating, it's melting point is well below that of solder but take care in case fumes are created. Solvents like 'Ultrasolve(ULS)' will remove the coating if you need to. I usually solder straight through then clean with ULS afterwards to remove any flux residue and 'burnt' coating then re-spray with a new conformal coating layer.

Hint: conformal coating contains a fluorescent dye - if you view the board under UV LEDs it will show if you missed any areas!
