Hi all,
I'm pretty new with Cadence and a have a problem I can't solve.

I have a gds file (which was created in a freeware tool) that I want to import in Cadence. Therefore I clicked on File > Import > Stream and chose the gds file as the "Stream File". No problems so far. But unfortunately the colors of layers are horrible and the layers are named with layer1, layer2 etc. So, how can I change the name and the color of the layers?

My first thought was to generate the layer map file, to rename the layers in that file and then to reimport that file. So, to create the layermap file, I clicked on File > Import > Stream. In the upcoming window i chose the gds file as the "Stream File" and checked the option "Generate Technology Information From Stream File". Now I got a .gds.tf.layermap file in which I edited the layer names. But how can I now reimport that file? Was it even the correct procedure to generate the layermap file? And is that a correct way to rename the layers? And how can I change the color of the layers?

Thank you for your help.

Daniel
