Hello.

I have a relay that is rated for 5 amps, but there are three pairs of contacts that this 5A can go through.

Say I wanted to max it out and run 5 amps through it.

Do I have to be using all three sets of contacts, or can I run 5A through just one pair?

If you mean a relay that has three individual output switches (six contacts) then the rating is for each individual switch not all of them combined.
