hi,

does this type of ldr and relay based light solution really saves money?
for saving energy consumed by my 6 watt LED street bulb, am I not losing power to run 5V relay module?

thanks

Hi,

I´d use a MOSFET instead of the relay. It consumes almost no energy.

If you want to know the relay power consumption you need to read it´s datasheet.

what MOSFET can be used in-place of this 5V Relay Module ?

The load current is not known. A Mosfet must be selected to able to drive the required load current.

spec is 5v 10A as per datasheet. what could be MOSFET substitute?

can i use TRIAC as in below link. will it be better than using relay and mosfet?
what is the pros and cons using TRIAC?

A Mosfet is used to switch a DC load, a Triac is used to switch an AC load.
Does the streetlight load use DC or AC?
What is the max current and voltage of the streetlight?

yes i am talking about LED street AC light of 50 watt ( @ 220 volt)

Amazon knows nothing about electronics so they do not say if the flood light is AC or DC and do not say its voltage.
In questions and answers somebody also asked and they said it uses 220VAC.
Why don't you find a light controlled module to power it instead of trying to make one?

Hi,

In post#1 you talked about 6W light bulb and you were worried about energy.
Now you show a 50W ultra food light.
What happened?
