hey ppl...
plz help me on this..
i dnt knw wats happen 2 my computer after i last run a system restore...
All my previous restore points got deleted..MS office has stopped opening..wenever i open any word document, windows installer starts running...same with IE also..

I googled this query n it involved editing the registry..so i tried running regedit thru start->regedit
but as soon as d window opens,it automatically vanishes...same happens with msconfig... i dnt knw wat to do..plz suggest something

Why did you do the restore? What were you trying to rectify? The best option would be to undo the system restore.
Another option is to re-install windows and make sure you choose Upgrade option.

I think you should repare your windows,if you are using windows XP go through the same steps as if you were going to install windows and instead of choosing setup choose repair, note:(don't select the option that says using recovery console, but proceed to setup and you will find a repair option below the setup option).

Re: Regedit & msconfig not opening. can it be a virus ef

when i read it it also happen to me when im being infected with the virus codename (sohanad) ill also have the same problem

regedit , task manager , command prompt ,and internet explorer

it show for two or three seconds then vanish

if somebody can help ill also appreciate
it maybe some sort of this too

Start your computer in safe mode, then run the anti-virus.

Your machine is infected with a virus. Some viruses prevent you from running utilities that might allow you to disable them, like the registry editor. My suggestion would be to get a virus specialist in front of your PC.
