Hello all,

I have read that there are three crystal orientations of Si <100>, <110> and <111>, in its lattice structure. <111> is the natural cleavage plane of Si and it has got a high packing density. So crystal grows faster in this direction. But when it comes to wafer, how does it become a <111> wafer or <100> wafer ?
On what basis are they being named so..Can anybody help me out in that

Thanks in advance

regards
Vani S
