Hi There.

I need to add a Tone generation element for my project. I am quite in decision within Transducer or Piezo Buzzer. I need to drive it through MCU.

Below are the parts in my mind:

I can see Transducer is 4KHz and Piezo is 6.3KHz. So, Can the Piezo buzzer generate same tone and loud sound like the Transducer?

Can anyone advise the pros and cons of each .... sorry for my silly ques.

Regards.

PIezzo are more efficient. Magnetic can be louder. frequency response of human hearing affects perceived loudness as does ambient noise. Lower f towards few KHz may be loudest but higher can be noticeable and bounce off walls easier but less annoying. I used to use 7KHz in an old office with 100 phones all with the same ring tone. So I could hear my phone across the open office and reach it if possible. It was like a bird chirp that if you tuned your ear, it was distinct. But if you want loud choose >100dB @1m in magnetic or piezo.
