regarding create group usin script

i want to create new group using script(grouping of cells)...in that group i want to put some cells...
can u any one answer me....
 

venkatramanan,

At what stage do you want to do this, synthesis, placement; I assume when you say script you are referring to TCL most oftenly supported API. But also many other tools have their own commands which can help you do it using a single command.

Not sure if I understood you question correctly.
 
i want placement stage...and i'm using soc...they interviewer told to write full script...not one command..
can u help me...
