I got a paper which states regarding SSIM (Structural similarity index measure) as one of the index to measure the image quality. This index lies between 0 and 1 depending on the condition that the structural details of the image is preserved after enhancement. I just wanted to know if structural preservation really mean an improvement in the quality of the image.
And if not what are the best measure of image enhancement.
