regading plasitc condiective poteniometers

as we are using pankaj 10k,1w pots brightness controller in our projects, sometimes it may fails, due to ware and tare of pots, as we came to know that plastic condective pots may i know what is i? weather this pots really solves our problem. ? where to find it? how much it would cost? is there any other possible way to over come this problem?:-D

Have you checked what the power dissipation is' particularly when the pot is partially turned? It is not uncommon to find the power increases at small pot settings depending on the circuit.
