Referring to this diagram, how to test this SCR Module which have two SCRs connected in series ?

What testing circuit would be useful and/or how to test this with a DMM ?

thanks in advance

You have all terminals of both of these SCR available independently, so it really does not matter if they are connected in series.
To test an SCR using DMM try following:
1. Test the diode action between Gate and cathode
2. Now test for SCR turn on: Short gate & anode of SCR with +Ve of DMM & -Ve to cathode. It should show turnon state or low resistance.
3. Now test for SCR off state: Between Anode and cathode it should show. open circuit or high resistance (Note here we have not used Gate terminal)

Hope this helps.

How to test MCD version of this Scr module which have free wheeling diode in series with SCR ??

Test Scr as individual element as you described & test diode alone as a single element ??? Is this the right approach to test this module out ???

Look this......................

Here are simple instructions, how to select load resistance and gate resistor for testing thyristor.

Look for example
**broken link removed**

You find values for
Ihold = 200mA
Ilatch = 300mA
Igt = 150mA ( +25Celsius)

How to select values for Rg & RL for this particular example that you've taken above ?

would you show me how to do that , please ?

thanks a lot
