Hi all,

I need some information about how to desing an redundant power supply, some good book or link, paper or else, I´m desining one fault tolerant system and need these theory.

Thx alot.

Hi snake,

Generally, you have two power supplies, each connecting to the load through a Schottky diode, each supplying about half the current. Thus, if one fails, the remaining one supplies the full current.

To ensure they "share" the current, they employ another wire, the current share "bus".

For more info, go to the Ti website and search for UC3907 and related appnotes.
