Sometimes the rectifier is really useful, when you can load you vehicle only by alternator. It is possible to create a home made rectifier.
Transformer 150W was applied in this device. Because there was 18V on the secondary winding, it turned out to be necessary to unwind taps on 12, 14, 16 and 18V and use the 12V and 16V.
The rectifier operates very well. It has 2-range switch. On the first range on the end of loading it loads 14,4V and yellow LED lights. On the second range there are two indication LEDs: blue – that indicates turn on the second range and red LED – which starts flashing when the voltage at the end reaches 16,2V and turns off. Then it is loaded by a small current and the LED flashes during this time.
