Hi guys!

I'm new to HFSS programming. I'm asked to design rectangular waveguide as a type of WR-12. I have following parameters such as width (a = 3.1 mm) , height (b = 1.55 mm) and cut-off freq (f = 48.3 GHz). My question is that how am I suppost to calculate the thickness of my waveguide? I assume that the length of my waveguide won't affect my results. But I don't know how to calculate the thickness of my waveguide.

Thanks in advance!

Consider that thickness is defined by mechanical stability requirements rather than electrical parameters. You should know that 48 GHz skin depth is < 1 µm.
