Hello board,
I want to design a reconfigurable board, so that according to the situation some components may have to be changed. Basically I have a board that have multiple components(footprints) in one location(all of them are needed to be on top side) but In reality according to situation I want to place only one of these components in that specific location. Nets can be reconfigures via a few jumpers to adopt to the new component. Currently when I want to do this, AD gives clearance error for components that are placed on top of each other. Is it possible to make AD understand what I mean so it dose not nag anymore.

Thanks

You could just turn off the component clearance design rule. To do that, go to the design rule dialog, and click on the very top of the design rule list where there is a folder symbol that says "Design Rules". A list of the active design rules will appear in the right window. Uncheck the "Enable" box next to "Component Clearance".

Another way would be to define the component bodies for each of your components such that there is clearance under the body where you can fit another component. You could then stack the component footprints using a design rule with "Use Component Bodies" as the check.
