hello sir

please give a practical definition of active & passive elements in the way you know better than a book

You should be paying attention during classes. Besides the book, there's a teacher. You can always ask questions if there's something unclear to your mind (except if your mind is drifting).

hahaha dat all we did , & presently a group discussion or say a debat like atmosphere is going there so i ll have to post answers a lil.bit exclusive & in a single go for my team . . so asking here for a lil.help

In simple and short:-

Active components- where there is an appreciable change in power generally increase in power in a circuit. Active components include amplifying components such as transistors, triodes (obsolete) and tunnel diodes.

Passive components- where there is no change in power level. Passive components includes resistors, capacitors, inductors, and transformers.
