real time signal processing windows

why windows os is not suitable for real time signal processing applications ?

can we rely on windows os to accurately process incoming data at very fast rates from an external A/D convertor ?

what is the sampling limit for windows os ?

can windows reliably sample and process continuous fast incoming data, if not then why ?

thanx in advance

-> as long as your external sampler is fast enough?
so the program in windows read data from the sampler and process.

-> i think sampling is in terms of hardware, not the OS.

Windows OS is not really realtime, and may not be stable enough for advanced realtime signal processing.
