The radio is based on one lamp, replica of Lee de Forest Audion and a basket coils. The tuning is variometric (tuned by changing the inductance) by zooming in or out the coils. Two coils are used to tuning the stations, the third is used for reaction adjustment – positive feedback increasing the sensitivity of the radio.
The tuning circuit has no capacitors therefore the required capacity is based on a 12 meters antenna. The radio requires grounding.
Reception only to headphones (resistance of about 3.2 kilohms).
Power supply:
12V (glow of battery-adjustable potentiometer) and 60-90V anode voltage (from a small inverter)
The movement of coils is possible owing on small hinges.
