A lot of radio's doesn't have RDS function, or they are limited by producers, so they can only display radio station name, or actual hour. If you want to make it yourself, you will have problems how to get quartz resonator with frequency 4,332MHz or 8,664MHz.
Depend which quartz we have, we must remember about correct polarized MODE pin:
4,332 MHz plug to the ground
8,664 MHz plug to plus (5V)
There are a lot of projects with TDA7330 chipset, this project is with SAA6579T that have almost the same function except ARI output ( traffic information). All electric is a few components, that's why board could have dimensions of standard LCD display 2*16.
Idea to construct it appears when I found old car radio in the garbage, i found there quartz resonator. I couldn't find any project at internet, so I decided to built decoder on that board.
A lot information about tool, description how to connect it with car audio you can find **broken link removed**
