Rapid Prototyping tips

I am trying to design a high voltage power supply with following specifications:
No Load output supply: -6kV to -7kV
Max o/p current: 400mA
Power: 200W
Input: 230V AC
Trip Current: Configurable from 10mA to 50mA
Supply type: SMPS

Please suggest a scheme to use already proven design techniques to rapidly prototype this power supply.

If you are delivering 400 mA @ 6KV =~ 2400W thats a challenge. Thats not including efficiency
factor. And you say you only want 200W.

And you say max Iout = 400 mA but you want it to trip at 10 - 50 mA ?

Not sure I understand what you want to do......

I read 6-7 kV no-load voltage, not 6 kV @ 400 mA. The expected I/V characteristic is however unclear.
