quisi-elliptic waveguide filter with post discontinuity

If chebyeshev filter,the several half-wavelength sections are in a line.
and the resonating modes are all TE101 mode.
but as to the quasi-elliptic, it is necessary to realize cross-coupling,
so the sections cant be in a line.As described in attached figure,where * are posts.
Is it OK?
 

It's not OK! This circuit will not work. You need to use waveguide filter with half-wavelength resonators and septum slot coupling. You can find design such filters(without cross-coupling) in the "Matthaei's book".
 

If you want to get an elliptic filter,you should know how to get zeros of the transmission function,which should you to know about coupling,only diffient signs of coupling cofficients can you to get zeros needs.
