Hi to all.
I've never used these before so I just want to check something.
If I get a pt100 sensor off the shelf , is any calibration necessary?
I have a temperature to resistance table for the pt100. Surely that's all I need to be able to
determine the temperature , no extra calibration should be needed.

Hi,

no, you don't need any calibration, just be shure to have a good electronic. The precision of the electronic to get the PT100 measurements is quite important.

Pt100 sensors are shipped in different accuracy classes. Standard is class B, maximum deviation +/-(0.3 + 0.005*abs(t)). Means +/- 0.3 degree C accuracy at 0, +/- 0.8 at 100 °C

Thanks guys. I won't need great accuracy +-5deg at 300 is good enough , so I should not have any problems.
Cheers
