I have some speakers that i am trying to get a little louder. I don't know the wattage but they are just regular desktop speakers. Would something like this work and still sound good?

It does not appear to have wires and a plug and jack. You will need to attach these. Do you have the necessary equipment?

You will need to power it with 5V. You can make your own supply, or devote a USB port to it.

Ebay might have a ready-to-use amplifier at a low price. Because if your speakers are unamplified they will sound weak, if plugged into the sort of computer I'm familiar with.

Thanks! I have the rest of the supplies to connect it to a computer and power the board.

If I use a board like this to amplify my speakers, will the audio still sound good?

If your speakers are plain 4 or 8 ohm, then I'll bet you can just about hear them when you plug them into a computer. (At least from my experience with computer audio. I found that my speakers were weak so I decided to make my own amplifier based on an LM377 stereo IC.)

So any amount of amplification should be an improvement.

The volume control is a big convenience.

Seeing the country of manufacture, and the low price... I'd purchase the next step up in power output, and I'd purchase 2 of them.
