ESD problem

hi,

i understand tht esd can be calmped using zener diode. my question is

1. in some circuit i can see two or more zener diode been used wat is tht significant of it, isnt 1 is enough to do the job?

2. does the impedance diode zener`s impendance plays a big role in cct impedance?

thanks

danesh

Re: ESD problem

With single zener diode you will cover 0 to Vz voltage, with 2 zener diodes connected in opposite direction you will cover -Vz(-0.65) to +Vz(+0.65).

Instead of zener diodes you can use Transient Voltage Suppressors which are design for this purpose. (https://www.microsemi.com/micnotes/102.pdf).

Re: ESD problem

It offen be used more finger to improve ESD.
