Question on ACDC rectifier using thyristor

1) Since the thyristor is semicontrolled switch, by using it in a AC/DC bridge, is there any way to design a close-loop control??

2) Since the output DC voltage depends on the firing angle, how to vary the start angle α for thyristors in circuit design??

1) Basically yes. A considerably control process dead-time has to be considered
2) Use a suitable phase controller, e.g. a TCA785 or a processor based controller

I agree w. u on the dead time prob. of thyristor cl-loop control. Buz the thyristor cannot be forced to be off by PWM control...
