Does the disorganization and slowness of liquid crystals and dead and stuck pixels of 3.5" IPS LCD Display also occur if stored for years without use and is this caused by the storage time or by the temperature and humidity of the storage location?

The backlight LEDs, even when stored for long years, lose a lot of performance and brightness and does this occur due to the storage time or the temperature and humidity conditions?

I purchased an lcd digital meter from Sears 30 years ago. After several years the display developed a small black blotch obscuring a digit. It was not liquid and could not be cleaned away. I put the meter in my car for emergency use. It's exposed to temperatures from 100 deg F to -30 F. The blotch grew in size but only a small amount.
