question about tri-state gate

Hi All,

Is it possible to creat a tri-state gate by using some basic digital component(such as AND,OR,NOT gate)? Thanks.
 


When a component is driven into tri-state, means that the output present an high impedance regardless to the logic state given by its inputs. This is not possible with combination of just standard totem-pole gates.
 

Yes it is possible, connect the output of your circuit to the input of your tristate circuit
 

As already mentioned Tri-state logic gates are needed, or you take the existing And/Inverter gates and use a discrete Low-Side and High-Side switch. Here is an example of this:
